Wipe spills promptly with a damp cloth and dust regularly.  

Use coasters, placemats and runners to protect from heat and scratches 

Avoid direct sunlight to prevent cracking, splitting or spotting 

Lift furniture when moving to protect joinery 

Avoid polishes with high silicon or petroleum content 

Natural timber will expand and contract with changes in climate, small splits and variations are normal 

To help prolong the life of your timber furniture we recommend applying a polish, like Golden Care Transparent Teak, Hardwood Shield or Linseed Oil ( available from hardware or supermarkets, check if suitable for the type of wood you have) every 6 to 12 months.  This will create an almost invisible barrier, while still keeping the natural timber look, but making it more difficult for liquids to stain your timber furniture.
