At Home with Evie Mackay, friend of A&C
Introducing Evie Mackay, Photographer, Filmmaker, and friend of the brand. Evie welcomed us into her warm and art-filled family home - a space that beautifully reflects her creativity and the life she shares with her family.

Tell us a little about you and your home and the people who live with you?
My late father called me a gypsy as I was always moving since I was 7 and this house was my first home I lived in for longer than 2 years. My husband Guy and I have raised our three children in this house, our son Mack (9) and twin daughter Winifred and Louise (4). It is full of treasures that mostly all tell a story.

How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as sentimental. Almost everything has been either been designed, created or purchased from a friend's business.
You are a photographer and have an incredible eye, what’s important to you when designing a home?
Light! I enjoy the light play across the day and seasons in the home. Natural soft dappled golden hour light & strong morning contrast light.

You have the best art, furniture & book collection. Do you have a favourite piece of art or furniture?
The children’s art probably.... to be that embodied and free.

You have just brought a new home (Congrats) tell us what draw you to your new home?
Our neighbourhood, Point Chevalier and our street and community within it. We have literally bought the house across the road. It has an incredible view of the harbour bridge and sky tower and a wide entrance gallery hall and natural timber windows original from the 70s.
How does your photography influence the way you've decorated your space?
Most likely spatially as, like a photograph composition & light can make almost any subject beautiful as can how you compose your home with the placement of furniture, art and how the light falls during certain times of the day.

Do you have any exciting projects coming up you would like to share?
Yes! I am working towards an exhibition of my work this year... but this is the 4th year I have been saying that... and a new website after 10 years!
