Dulux Colour Forecast 2021

The Dulux Colour Forecast 2021 is out and to be honest, the timing couldn't be more perfect in our opinion. With community Covid-19 restrictions easing around New Zealand this week, and a little taste of spring in the air, the annual forecast is a nice reminder that however challenging a year it's been, there is always plenty to look forward to. 

We love how Dulux takes the time to consider what is going on in our world when creating these forecasts. Now more than ever, our homes need to be a place that provides comfort and calm from the outside world. We love how the Nourish palette evokes a sense of comfort in using a range of colours with warm, earthy tones. It is no surprise that this would be our top pick from the forecast ranges this year.

The Nourish palette features colours such as Dulux Haast Half and Dulux Kauri Cliffs, two staples for us at A&C, used frequently in our store fit-outs and photoshoots. This beautiful combination of Dulux favourites offers a peaceful and calm presence,  encourages us to create some balance in our homes, when the world outside offers us hurdles and uncertainty.

In addition to Nourish, there are two other palettes included in the forecast for 2021. 'Retreat', which draws on nostalgia to create that sense of familiarity and refuge we crave - incorporating up-cycled materials in raw and natural timbers, and vintage accents such as ceramics and weavings alongside modern utilitarian-shaped décor pieces to create a well-worn, yet timeless look. And, 'Reset', a palette that reflects our renewed energy and desire to brighten our outlook as we adapt to home life. Subtly inspired by the 70s, uplifting hues of blue-green and energetic reds offset contrasting whites and neutrals.
