Celebrating 10 Years | We Won An Award

The timing couldn't have been more perfect—as we celebrate 10 years, I had the honour of travelling to Chicago to accept the GIA Award for Best Homeware Store in New Zealand on behalf of the team. Tough gig, I know. :)

As we previously shared we were over the moon to be announced as the winners for New Zealand for 2025. 

The Global Innovation Awards (GIA) is a Global competition that operates in 13 countries and celebrates innovation and excellence in homewares and retail around the world.

The gala dinner, held in the heart of downtown Chicago, was a true celebration of global retail. This year felt even more special as GIA marked its 25th anniversary—and has recognised over 250 retailers from over 55 countries along the way.

What stood out most in the room was the shared passion for storytelling and creating inspiring customer experiences. Across all the winners, no matter the country, one common theme emerged—community is at the heart of everything. It’s what elevates an in-store experience from simply shopping to something so much more.

Beyond the gala, I also had the chance to explore the Inspired Home Show. A few days filled with fantastic speakers, fresh ideas, and, of course, a lot of retail inspiration from shops around the city.

The Inspired Homeshow was Huge, it's one of the largest shows in North America.
