New year, new room!
With fresh beginnings in mind, I was inspired to take on a bedroom style re-set to help get the new year off to a good (looking) start. My hopes are for a calming and peaceful 2018… with more breakfast in bed too perhaps. These goals have guided my colour palette and styling choices in this terrific terracotta bedroom.
Starting with walls in Dulux Manorburn, a soft neutral light grey that helps to create a serene sleeping space, I then added a statement feature with A&C French Flax Linen bedding in a new terracotta tone and complementary layers of olive.
Following the mantra of ‘if you build it, they will come’, the addition of a few simple breakfast serving accessories, including this lovely rattan breakfast tray, is a little invitation to the universe to bring more lazy Sunday lie-ins my way!
Adding a small, creative touch, I found a fun way to display some of my favourite things above my bed with this earthy, moss covered tree branch – it’s amazing what inspiration you can find in your own backyard!
This tranquil, minimalist room is just what I had in mind for my 2018 bedroom and these colours make me feel relaxed and right at home.
