A new year often brings with it some big dreams and goals. While our office space is ever-changing, filled with boxes one day and set up for a styled shoot the next, we always like to keep it filled with interesting colours, textures and objects to help keep the creative juices flowing and the grand, new year plans growing!
Using a simple, hand-painted wall stripe paint effect, we’ve added a bit of new year magic to this creative corner using Dulux Waihi, a lovely golden yellow, against the neutral base of our all-time favourite white, Dulux Okarito.
The intention for this 'creative corner' was a fun, energetic space that would inspire a bit of creativity, so we didn't believe the lines needed to be perfectly straight and crisp. So while painting, we let the brush organically create the stripes and left the brush strokes and crooked lines visible. If you would prefer a more uniform look, but just use masking/painter's tape to mark out your lines before you begin painting.
Nothing livens up a dreary workspace like some loveable, living plant pals or fresh florals. Add height and interest to your ‘shelfie’ with the perfect vessel, or put your planters to work as a functional book end - just don’t forget to assign a waterer!
Keep productivity high by having everything you need to get through the work day close at hand. A water bottle, stack of pens, appointment diary and of course, some snacks, are all helpful to have at the ready - save those trips back and forward to the kitchen! PROJECT: READ
